Assessment of a Dynamic Physically Based Slope Stability Model to Evaluate Timing and Distribution of Rainfall-Induced Shallow Landslides

Shallow landslides due to hydro-meteorological factors are one of the most common destructive geological processes, which have become more frequent in recent years changes rainfall frequency and intensity. The present study assessed a dynamic, physically based slope stability model, Transient Rainfall Infiltration Grid-Based Slope Stability Model (TRIGRS), Idukki district, Kerala, Western Ghats. compared impact hydrogeomechanical parameters derived from two different data sets, FAO soil texture regionally available texture, on simulation distribution timing shallow landslides. For assessing landslide distribution, 1913 were true positive rates (TPRs) 68% 60% obtained with nine-day period for FAO- regional-based respectively. However, false rate (FPR) 36% 31% was also seen, occurrence nine events assessed, triggered second week June 2018. Even though eight accurately simulated, only three found be accurate. concludes that model simulations using either sets able identify location event. there is need including high-spatial-resolution parameter set improve event modeling.
